Japan Tourism Agency
The Japan Tourism Agency is a Japanese government agency responsible for tourism policy. Its materials are a source of official, visitor-related information, including policy on topics such as tax-free shopping, where it works alongside the National Tax Agency and the Japan National Tourism Organization. Use it for official background rather than for shop-by-shop procedures, which stores explain themselves. Rules and policies change, so look at its current pages before you travel. A short definition for orientation. The guides and the institutions' own documents are the places for the details.
