National Tax Agency

The National Tax Agency is the national authority responsible for taxes in Japan, including consumption tax. It publishes English information on the tax exemption system for non-resident visitors and on related procedures. Because the rules for visitors have been revised in the past and may be revised again, its current pages are the authority, and an older blog post or an article, including this glossary, is only a starting point.
