Glossary entry
USD
USD is the three-letter ISO currency code for the United States dollar. It is paired with JPY in a yen to dollar conversion and appears on statements, converters and exchange screens. If a terminal in Japan offers to charge you in USD, that is dynamic currency conversion, where the merchant or its provider sets the rate, and choosing yen instead usually lets your own card network and issuer convert under the terms you agreed. A short definition for orientation. The guides and the institutions' own documents are the places for the details.
