Rate alert
A rate alert is a notification sent when an exchange rate reaches a level you choose. Some banks and card apps offer them, while this site does not send alerts. An alert informs you but does not lock in a rate or make a trade, and it cannot tell you whether the rate will rise or fall next. Because you choose the level, it reflects your preferences, not a market signal. The rate you are offered will still include a provider's margin, so check the real figure. A short definition for orientation. The guides and the institutions' own documents are the places for the details.
