Glossary entry
Pasmo
Pasmo is an IC card used mainly on transit in the Tokyo area, and it works much like Suica for trains, subways and buses. Like other IC cards, its terms for visitors can change, including how it is bought, how it is loaded and whether it can be refunded, so check with the operator. The stored value is in yen, so loading it with a foreign card is a foreign currency purchase with your issuer's terms. See also: Suica, IC card, and the guide IC Cards in Japan.
A short definition for orientation. The guides and the institutions' own documents are the places for the details.
