JPY
JPY is the three-letter ISO currency code for the Japanese yen. You will see it on converters, bank statements, card receipts and exchange screens, and it is the first half of the pair written JPY/USD or USD/JPY. A statement that shows a charge in JPY tells you the transaction was made in yen, which is normally the setting you want at a terminal abroad. Check the direction of a pair before you read a converter, because yen to dollars and dollars to yen are different questions. See also: USD, yen, dynamic currency conversion.
A short definition for orientation. The guides and the institutions' own documents are the places for the details.
