Questions
Where can I get yen once I arrive?
The common routes for getting yen in Japan are ATMs that accept foreign cards, currency exchange counters and banks. ATMs are often found in convenience stores, post offices and some bank branches, but not every machine accepts every foreign card, and hours differ. Check the network logos on the machine against those on your card and your issuer's terms. Whichever route you use, ask for the exact yen amount after all fees, and decline any prompt to be charged in your home currency.¹
